FAQs About Nepal

Got questions about traveling to Nepal? Our FAQ section has you covered!

One thing I love about Nepal is the richness of its culture. No matter where you go, asking a local about its past will reveal such fascinating stories because of how depth their history is. You’ll also be amazed by how the buildings managed to retain their original structure, making it feel like you’re walking in the past. The food is great, the people are incredibly helpful, and the weather is nice during the cooler seasons! It’s honestly one of the most interesting countries I’ve ever been to.

Overall, Nepal is considered quite safe for travelers. Possibly due to the religious nature of the people here, Nepalese people are kind and hospitable. There are no religious extremists or radical groups disrupting the citizens’ everyday life. If you’re heading into the Himalayas for trekking, make sure to check the weather conditions and prepare properly for high-altitude environments. It’s also a good idea to be cautious with local traffic and road conditions, as driving can be unpredictable.

Nepal is famous for its trekking opportunities! However, as of April 1, 2023, the Nepal Tourist Board (NTB) has updated its regulations for all foreign trekkers, cyclists, and mountain climbers in the country’s mountainous areas and national parks. Now, all trekkers, whether traveling alone or in a group, are required to be accompanied by a licensed guide.

Many people in Nepal speak English as a second language, especially in the capital city, Kathmandu. While Nepali is the main language, English is commonly used for business in Nepal.

Nepal is famous for its stunning Himalayan views, including Mount Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. It’s a top spot for trekkers, with popular trails like the Everest Base Camp Trek and Annapurna Circuit. The country also has a rich culture, with fun festivals, ancient temples, and important religious sites like Lumbini, where Buddha was born.

Nepal uses the Nepalese Rupee, which is often abbreviated as NPR.
