BEST TIME TO VISIT THAILAND

Thailand is a great place to visit year-round, but the best time to visit is during the cool and dry season between November and March. The weather during this period makes it easier to travel around the country and enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and exploring national parks. But if you want to experience Songkran in April, or if you prefer fewer tourists, visiting during the hot and rainy seasons from March to October has its own benefits!

FAQs About Thailand

Got questions about traveling to Thailand? Our FAQ section has you covered!

Thailand is always at the top of the list when it comes to the most traveled countries, and there are plenty of good reasons for this: the food, the culture, the people—it truly is the Land of Smiles! If you’re looking for a budget-friendly trip to a tropical nation with gorgeous beaches and rich cultural sites like palaces and temples, then this country is definitely a must-visit for you!

Yes! The sketchy areas and red-light districts shown in movies are usually contained within specific streets. If you’re a solo female traveler, you should have no issues with safety here. Of course, always exercise caution when traveling anywhere. But, compared to other countries I’ve visited, Thailand ranks high for safety. I can leave my laptop and personal items unattended on tables in coffee shops, and you’ll also see people leaving their keys in their vehicles while parked outside 7-11s. But one thing I would avoid if you’re worried about safety is taking motorbike taxis, especially during the rainy season. Thailand has the highest rates of motorcycle-related accidents.

Thailand became the first country in Asia to fully legalize cannabis in 2022, so yes, weed is legal! You’ll find plenty of cannabis shops on many streets, especially in Bangkok.

Thai people drive on the left side of the road, mainly because of the influence of Britain from the mid-1800s.

Bangkok is Thailand’s capital and most populous city. Locals refer to it as ‘Krung Thep Maha Nakhon’ or simply ‘Krung Thep’.

The country’s official currency is the Thai Baht (THB). The symbol for the currency is ฿, and it is subdivided into 100 satang.
